Animoca Brands, Lympo partner with Play Magnus Group for a blockchain chess game

Blockchain game company Animoca Brands and one of its subsidiaries, Lympo, announced a partnership with the Play Magnus Group (PMG) today.
Play Magnus Group was founded by reigning five-time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen. The company offers an ecosystem of online services for chess players and those interested in the game.
The partnership will develop and release 'Anichess,' a blockchain chess game that features GameFi and play-to-earn qualities.
Animoca Brands believes the upcoming game will introduce chess players to blockchain gaming and encourage experienced blockchain gamers to the beautiful game of chess. Anichess' economy will also be powered by Lympo's $SPORT tokens, which will serve as the game's primary utility token.
The game's development will be headed by Lympo, a firm already experienced in the GameFi sector. Among Lympo's products are NFT Minting and NFT Staking, and it also has an upcoming play-to-earn basketball management game.
Lympo's partnership with PMG would allow it to work closely with several Chess Grandmasters, including Magnus Carlsen, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Liem Le, and others who would offer advice and assist with the development of Anichess to make it an immersive gaming experience for professional and amateur chess players.
'The concept of Anichess will amplify the traditional chess experience with a new phenomenal strategic layer that will produce situations never seen before. Well-established game designers, super chess grandmasters, e-sports stars, and casual gamers are working together to deliver an action-packed blockchain chess experience,' said Tadas Maurukas, CEO and co-founder of Lympo.
Co-founder and CEO of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, believes Anichess will create unparalleled experiences for all types of chess players, especially with the game rapidly gaining recognition as an e-sport.
Anichess is scheduled for release in 2023.
