On Wednesday, web-browser Brave announced it has added support for the Solana Blockchain to make it the default Blockchain and Dapps providers.

The partnership will bring ‘best-in-class wallet features’ from the Solana blockchain into Brave’s Web3 desktop and mobile browsers in ‘the first half of 2022’.

The web-browser’s 15.5 million daily users can now buy, sell and store Solana (SOL) and Solana-based tokens (SPL) in the browser’s WalletBuy SOL and other cryptocurrencies with fiat via non-custodial payment platform, Ramp.

‘With the Ramp integration, Brave users will be able to spend more time doing what they love and less time on what was a painful process of converting their fiat currencies to crypto,’ Ramp’s head of marketing, Greg McEwan said in an announcement.

Furthermore, Brave will use Solana as the default Blockchain for ‘cross-chain and Solana native Dapps’.

Brave also announced that it has partnered with NFT-based ecosystem, Magic Eden, so that users are able to use BAT tokens to buy NFT tokens on Magic Eden’s marketplace in the coming weeks.

Co-Founder of Solana, Anatoly Yakovenko spoke on how the integration will attract more users to the ‘decentralized web’ or Web3.

‘Brave’s inclusion of Solana in the wallet is an important step on the path to onboarding a billion users to Web3,’ saidYakovenko.

Brave cited the shared common goal between the browser and Solana, saying, ‘Like Brave, our mission is to serve the world with fast, convenient, and secure access to Web3. With the Ramp integration, Brave users will be able to spend more time doing what they love and less time on what was a painful process of converting their fiat currencies to crypto,’ said McEwan.
