Cannes to bring Web3 to the film industry with first-ever NFTCannes Summit

The first-ever NFTCannes Summit will kick off at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on May 23. The event aims to connect leaders from the media, arts and entertainment industry and Web3 ecosystems. This will create bridges and partnerships to the Metaverse.
The annual NFTCannes Summit is an invitation-only event featuring conversations and panels to discuss the nexus between media stakeholders and Web3 technologies.
The program will cover topics such as the future of NFT applications in entertainment, including collectibles, financing and distribution; fan and community building opportunities. There will also be live events and experiences.
The event is held in collaboration with Production studio Electromagnetic Productions (EMP), international cryptocurrency financial management company Galaxy Interactive, NFT app OP3N, Blockchain platform Avalanche and private investing platform Republic.
The hosts of this summit are co-founder and CEO of EMP Mark Kimsey, co-founder of Galaxy Interactive and Galaxy Digital Sam Englebardt and co-founder of OP3N Studios Jaeson Ma.
‘The entertainment world has changed drastically over the last decade and become more prolific, competitive and innovative,” Kimsey said in a report. ‘The decade ahead will see an even more dramatic transformation with the arrival of web3. As cinema’s preeminent global stage, the Cannes International Film Festival is the top destination for storytelling in film and NFTCannes signals the evolution of the film industry and opens the door to a new era of entertainment.’
‘We at OP3N are truly excited to co-host NFTCannes as the future of Hollywood and web3 is just beginning, and there is so much potential to completely revolutionize how premium content is not only financed and distributed, but how fan communities of IP can engage.’ added Ma.
