This week, Frito-Lay launched its new Cheetos-themed digital suburban neighborhood, called Chesterville, located in Meta’s Horizon Worlds.

In Chesterville, players can join challenges, in which they will complete tasks and earn points on their ‘mischief meter.’ Tasks and activities include using Chester’s wand to brand the neighbourhood, flinging cheetal-fired paper towels, and interacting with other players.

The goal is to unlock access to the spooky mansion on Cheetos Hill. Once players enter the mansion, they can unlock the chance to vote on their favourite ‘ghost of Cheetos’ past’ and help bring a no-longer-available flavour back to life in the real world.

Fans can vote on three flavours: Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Pepper Puffs, Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Chipotle Ranch, or Cheetos Nashville Hot Snacks.

‘As a culture-first brand committed to innovative consumer experiences, Cheetos is proud to lead Frito-Lay into the metaverse. This is a significant moment for both the brand and the portfolio as we broaden the ways we engage with fans, inviting them to experience Cheetos in an entirely new way. We can’t wait to welcome consumers into Chester’s virtual domain that brings his personality and Cheetos’ brand ethos to life,’ said Stacy Taffet, Senior vice president of marketing for Frito-Lay.
