The Chicago Bulls will release a new NFT collection dubbed ‘The Aurochs’  later this month featuring 1-of-1 artworks by 23 well-known artists tasked with reimagining the National Basketball Association team's legendary 56-year logo.

Previously, the brand launched an NFT collection titled the Chicago Bulls Legacy Collection that depicted its six-year championship history. The collection also offered exclusive benefits for holders of the NFTs, including a ‘Bull for a Day’ VIP meet-and-greet experience and VIP seats.

The iconic logo was designed by commercial designer Dean Wessel, who was offered free tickets to a game in exchange for the now-synonymous image.

23 NFT artists were invited to redesign the logo, including Michael Salisbury, Bobby Hundreds, Blake Jamieson, Gxng Yxng of Ghxsts, Betty, and Psych from the NFT project Deadfellaz and Varvara Alay, Maliha Abidi, among others.

The NFTs will be exclusively available on the Coinbase NFT platform starting September 22. Each NFT will be on sale for a starting price of 0.2 ETH. The NBA team will allocate 40% of the sales profits to the artists, 40% to the Chicago Bulls while 10% will go towards the NBA team and 10% will be donated to After School Matters, a Chicago-based non-profit organization providing after-school and summer programs in arts, sports, STEM and leadership to Chicago youths.
