U.S.-based fast food restaurant chain, Chipotle announced it has launched an online game which will give customers the chance to win more than US$ 200,000 in crypto through July 31.

To honour National Avocado Day, users can join the ‘Buy The Dip’ game using their loyalty reward accounts. The company will offer crypto prizes to 516 players, including: US$45,000 in Bitcoin (BTC), US$ 10,000 in Ether (ETH), US$ 13,750 in Solana (SOL), US$ 14,250 in Avalanche (AVAX) and US$ 14,250 in Dogecoin (DOGE) via the game.

Meanwhile, around 700,000 customers will be rewarded with coupons, which they can use to redeem for free food.

‘We want to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web3 community,’ said Chipotle chief marketing officer Chris Brandt.

The company has been active in the crypto space for a while now.

Back in April 2021, it gave away US$ 100,000 in BTC as part of its ‘Burritos or Bitcoin’ marketing campaign for National Burrito Day.

In June 2022, Chipotle began accepting 98 cryptocurrencies as payment through roughly 3,000 of its restaurants in the United States in partnership with digital payment provider Flexa.

Other popular fast food chains have launched crypto giveaways in the U.S. including Burger King, which partnered with stock trading app Robinhood in November 2021, to give away crypto as prizes to members of its Royal Perks loyalty program as part of their purchases from a pool of 20 BTC, 200 ETH and 2 million DOGE.
