FOMO Lab launches Mr. Bean NFT collection on Ethereum

Web3 company FOMO Lab announced the launch of a collection of Mr. Bean NFTs, which will feature only 3,333 unique collectibles and can be purchased with ether. The partnership is joined by global content producer Banjay who will work with FOMO Lab and Mr. Bean to bring the British icon into the Metaverse.

On May 11, Mr. Bean confirmed this collection. Most of the NFTs will feature the main character while others will contain other characters from the cartoon such as Teddy, Scrapper the cat, Mrs. Wicket and more. An exact minting date is not revealed yet but FOMO Lab has already created a Discord server ‘#show-us-your-beans’ dedicated to the NFT collection.

Mr. Bean NFT ‘holders will also have access to phygital rewards.’ which may be interpreted as ‘redeemables including a signed, unpublished hand-drawn still of Mr Bean from the first animated series.’

Rowan Atkinson himself gave his nod to the news, calling the NFT collection a ‘great idea’ in a media statement yesterday. ‘Any initiative which not only draws attention to but actually enables access to the fabulous artwork associated with the Mr Bean Animation series, I welcome with open arms,’ he added. 

The announcement came at a time when NFT sales are experiencing a 92% decline and US$ 6 million was lost in a phishing incident involving Bored Apes NFTs.
