Fortnite developer Epic Games marketplace just listed its first NFT-powered Web3 game, dubbed Mythical Games’ Blankos Block Party.

The launch comes less than a year after Mythical Games raised US$ 150 million in a Series C funding round at a US$ 1.25 billion valuation.

Blankos Block Party is a multi-player online NFT game co-developed by Mythical Games and Third Kind Games.

Users can play, build and design colourful game worlds, and is filled with designer/vinyl toy culture. They can also collect and personalize Blankos avatars and sell them on the game’s marketplace.

‘Epic Games Store will welcome games that make use of blockchain tech provided they follow the relevant laws, disclose their terms, and are age-rated by an appropriate group. Though Epic’s not using crypto in our games, we welcome innovation in the areas of technology and finance,’ Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney wrote on Twitter.

Blankos Block Party’s Epic Games version and the version on its own website are both available for ‘early access’. The full versions will launch on both platforms on September 28, 2022.
