Gucci ‘s NFT collection ‘The Next 100 Years of Gucci’ goes live

Gucci is pushing its iconic art further into the Metaverse and Web3 with its latest release ‘The Next 100 Years of Gucci,’ a collection of NFT art that honours the brand’s heritage and future. 

This is the luxury house’s second initiative since its new partnership with curated NFT marketplace SuperRare, succeeding the experimental online space ⁠— Vault Art Space.  Vault Art Space is also where ‘The Next 100 Years of Gucci’ NFTs will be showcased and auctioned. 

The second drop features 10 NFT artists, who were tasked to consider the house’s 100-year legacy and imagine what lies ahead for its inaugural show. Each NFT will represent fragments of Gucci's history and present, and reimagined as the house’s future. Artists in this drop include Alexis Christodoulou, Aliendope, Diberkato, Drew Young, Jordan Schiffer, Pet Liger, trs.mnz, Tyler Spangler, Vexx, and YEAHYEAHCHLOE.

As aforementioned, The Next 100 Years of Gucci will be showcased and auctioned off from the Vault's website in three drops. The first drop is scheduled to take place from June 23rd to July 1st, the second from July 7th to July 15th, and the third from July 21st to July 29th, 2022. Accepted payment is in ETH. 

Previously, Gucci acquired US$25,000 $RARE tokens to join SuperRare's DAO, SuperRareDAO. This gives Gucci voting rights to new updates to the website and improvements to the platform. The platform also aims to attract independent galleries, called ‘Spaces’ that bring in new creators into SuperRare’s ecosystem.  

In February, Gucci released  SUPERGUCCI, a limited series of CryptoJanky NFTs and ceramic sculptures, through a collaboration with cult toy brand Superplastic.
