South Korean electronics giant LG has submitted a trademark application for ‘LG Art Lab’ on July 14, indicating plans that it will offer a TV software for issuing and trading NFTs as well as a software for NFT and crypto transactions management, digital token brokerage and wealth management.

The announcement was made by licensed trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis on July 19 via a Twitter post.

LG also submitted trademarks that include plans to provide e-wallet payment service, electronic payment processing in the Metaverse.

The news comes after LG had released various NFT-related products. In May, the company announced it is working with  Turkish-American new media artist Refik Anadol to display NFT artwork on the company’s transparent OLED TVs that generates a holographic effect. The NFT collection, ‘An Important Memory for Humanity,’ is based on data collected during the all-civilian Inspiration4 spaceflight. The data encompasses video, audio, and health gathered during the flight.
