Legendary Hall of Famer Magic Johnson to launch NFT collection on NBA Top Shot

The collection will feature 1,600 NFT packs depicting spectacular moments from his career.

Basketball legend Earvin Magic Johnson is set to launch his first-ever NFT collection with NBA Top Shot. The collection, dubbed ‘The anthology: Magic Johnson’ will feature 1,600 NFTs depicting moments of his career.

 

‘I’m really excited to partner with @nbatopshot to release my first NFTs and bring some of my favorite moments from my career to fans everywhere,’ he wrote on Twitter. 

 

The collection will be available on June 7. A total of 1,6000 anthology packs will be issued at US$ 399 each. The company said the packs will be airdropped to people with a Top Shot score of at least 150,000 and the leftover 400 packs will be available to any buyer. 

 

Within each pack will be one of four Magic Johnson’s career moments that happened during seasons in which he won the NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. Each pack will come with ‘a single guaranteed Magic Johnson Moment NFT in either the Legendary or Rare tier’.

 

The four Magic Johnson moments within the NFT collection are Never Fear, E.J. Is Here, Now You See it, Now You Don’t, Hocus Pocus Pass and Game. Set. Magic.

 

Magic Johnson played on the Los Angeles Lakers team from 19979 to 1996. He is a five-time NBA Champion, a three-time finals MVP, a three-time NBA MVP, a twelve-time NBA All-star. 

 

NBA Top Shot uses the Flow Blockchain developed by Dapper Labs in 2019. It is a proof-of-stake Blockchain designed for NFTs and crypto-based games.
