Meta is enabling the long-awaited NFT sharing feature to all US-based Facebook, Instagram users.

Testing of the NFT functionality has been underway since May 2022.

Now, users can share their NFTs by connecting their crypto wallets from Coinbase, Dapper Labs, MetaMask, Rainbow and Trust to Instagram. Instagram users can also crosspost their NFTs to their Facebook accounts.

Meta currently supports NFTs on three the Ethereum, Flow, and Polygon blockchains and plans to expand support for the Solana blockchain in the future.

Additionally, NFT support is available to all users on Instagram in the 100 countries where the feature is supported.

‘Today we’re announcing everyone on Facebook and Instagram in the U.S. can now connect their wallets and share their digital collectibles,” Meta said in a blog post. ‘Additionally, everyone in the 100 countries where digital collectibles are available on Instagram can now access the feature.’

The news arrived at a time when CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta would freeze hiring and further restructure teams, reduce company budgets amid an uncertain macroeconomic situation.
