MoonPay partners with Universal Parks & Resorts to launch 7 million NFTs this Halloween

Crypto service provider Moonpay and Universal Studios announced its upcoming collaboration, which will see the launch of an IRL NFT-based treasure hunt and 7 million NFTs.
The NFTs will feature Halloween characters and are powered by HyperMint, MoonPay’s utility NFT minting platform. The NFTs will be redeemable at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood as part of the ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ NFT treasure hunt.
More importantly, Moonpay aims to onboard more people into the Web3 world.
The collaboration began on September 15, 2022, when MoonPay left QR codes hidden near park attractions in Universal’s Hollywood and Orlando locations. When attendees scan these QR codes with their phones, they will receive a free NFT of character art associated with the Halloween Horror Nights program. If an attendee manages to collect all the codes in the park, they will be gifted an exclusive NFT gold medal.
‘This is probably the largest ever POAP — proof of attendance [protocol NFT drop] in history. Up to seven million NFTs are going to be created through the HyperMint platform,’ MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said.
The HyperMint platform is vital to the success of the initiative since it facilitates high-speed minting in a user-friendly way and can possibly create millions of POAP NFTs.
