The world’s largest NFT marketplace continues to extend support for various blockchains on its platform and recently added Avalanche to its list of backed networks.

Avalanche now joins Ethereum, Polygon, Klaytn, Solana, Optimism, and Arbitrum to become the seventh blockchain supported by the OpenSea platform.

OpenSea made the announcement on Twitter, welcoming Avalanche-based NFT projects like Chikn and OpenBlox to its community. Consequently, users will be able to trade Avalanche NFTs on OpenSea from now on.

All Avalanche-based NFT collections will be featured on OpenSea, and more will be added over time.

Touted as the “Ethereum killer” by some, Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in one interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem.

While it is currently superior to Ethereum in terms of transaction processing speed and scalability, Avalanche comes nowhere close to its rival when it comes to NFTs. CryptoSlam currently ranks Avalanche as the seventh biggest blockchain in terms of all-time NFT sales volume and the ninth biggest in 24-hour sales. Ethereum and Solana top both rankings.
