Playboy to debut mansion in The Sandbox Metaverse

Iconic media brand and magazine company Playboy is set to launch a virtual replica of its real-life mansion called ‘MetaMansion’ in The Sandbox Metaverse. Notably, Playboy teased its MetaMansion when it launched its Rabbitar NFT collection (inspired by its bunny logo) in October 2021.
The announcement was made in a Twitter post that reads, ‘Anybunny home? We're teaming up with none other than.... @playboy!
Together, we will be creating a Playboy MetaMansion social game inside #TheSandbox with #NFT collectibles & special experiences for the Rabbitar @PlayboyNFTs community!’
The MetaMansion will be an immersive, social interactive game for Rabbitar NFT holders and be home to mini-games, social mixers, exclusive social gatherings and events. All of the elements in the MetaMansion take inspiration from the magazine’s 70-year history and the iconic events hosted in the Playboy Mansion.
Rabbitar NFT holders will also get VIP access to experiences, quests, giveaways and rights to vote on the future affairs of the MetaMansion.
Playboy also launched a ‘Playboy MetaMansion’ channel in The Sandbox Discord for its community to receive updates.
Chief brand and strategy officer at Playboy, Rachel Webber said, ‘We’re thrilled to work with The Sandbox and its best-in-class design and development team to build a premium, customized Playboy gaming and social experience in the metaverse.’
Founded in 1953, Playboy has positioned itself as a global media brand. Its new presence in The Sandbox Metaverse follows a line of iconic brands such as American magazine TIME’s plans to create a digital replica of TIME Square in the Metaverse.
