Popular sportswear brand and renowned football team, Puma and Manchester City have teamed up to launch a Metaverse kit on gaming platform Roblox as part of an event that gives Roblox users a chance to win an exclusive jersey and buy in-game avatar skins.

This event offers a chance for players to win a skin of Manchester City’s third jersey, an alternate jersey type teams use when not wearing their ‘home’ and ‘away’ jerseys through competing in minigames.

Players can join these games by going directly to Manchester City’s Blue Moon experience on Roblox or visit Puma and the Land of Games to compete for a limited time.

The third jersey features a spray paint effect inspired by Manchester’s street art and comes in ‘Parisian Nights’ and ‘Fizzy Light’ colour palettes. It also features a hooped design based on the Manchester Worker Bee, which is the symbol of Manchester’s brand. Players will also be able to purchase the kit in Puma’s Roblox gear shop.

Further, the digital launch coincides with the kit’s real-world launch, which is available for sale in the Man City webshop and Puma retailers worldwide.

‘We’re thrilled to continue evolving our experience within Roblox with our PUMA and the Land of Games,’ said Puma’s Creative Culture Director Ivan Dashkov announced in a press release. ‘We couldn’t think of a better partner than Manchester City and this kit launch to push the limits by doing something different and innovative. As we continue to test and learn in the Web3 space, we are looking forward to leveraging Roblox as a platform to connect with fans of all ages.’

This news comes after Tom Hilfiger’s partnership with Roblox to bring Tommy Play to the Metaverse in June this year. Tommy Play is a community space for members to engage in minigames and earn ‘Tommy Coins’ to trade for in-game avatar skins including Tommy Jeans wearables, helmets and accessories through engaging in activities such as BMX bike riding and underground subway system exploration.
