The South East Community Development Council (South East CDC) in Singapore and local Web3 company LifesDAO is distributing NFTs to benefit the less privileged.

LifesDAO will distribute NFTs to 120 vulnerable people and their families over a 10-year period, which will be valued at US$ 60,000 during the time.

Recipients will gain access to LifesDAO’s network of over 100 merchants and their services, including hair styling and medicine. Vulnerable people who are registered with social programs such as Filos Community Services are eligible to join the program.

The move was officially set in motion after the South East CDC completed a month-long trial to test the viability of the program.

‘It is the first time we are social brokering through NFTs to provide services for the vulnerable in our community. We are heartened to have such meaningful partnerships, initiatives like this serve as a part of our mission to strengthen social infrastructure in our community by identifying and addressing the different needs of our residents,’ said Fahmi Aliman, the mayor of South East District.
