Warner Bros. partners with Nifty’s to launch Looney Tunes ‘What’s up block’ NFT collection

On Thursday, Warner Bros. announced its partnership with NFT-focused social media platform Nifty’s to launch a story-driven NFT collection called ‘Looney Tunes: What’s Up Block’ at the end of June 2022.
The NFT collection will feature a ‘fresh narrative for the Looney Tunes franchise’ through a unique Looney Tunes storytelling experience and celebrate Looney Tunes character Tweety's 80th anniversary via NFTs.
The first character to be featured is Tweety, 10,000 Tweety Pie NFT avatars with unique attributes will be launched on June 21 for less than US$ 100 on the Palm network, leveraging on the network’s low transaction costs and high speed. Buyers will also have the option to purchase these NFTs with fiat currency or DAI.
‘Today, as digital engagement and technology evolves, the Looney Tunes collection will further expand the reach of the franchise, bringing fans together from around the world, offering unique experiences, community building, storytelling, and a whole new way for them to engage. And what better way to kick things off with Tweety as his 80th birthday celebrations continue,’ Head of NFT commercial development at Warner Bros, Josh Hackbarth told Bitcoin.com News.
In 1930, Warner Bros. introduced the iconic Looney Tunes animation with childhood favourite characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester the cat and Tweety. The NFT collection will allow the fans to “participate in fun activities and games as the story unfolds, digital and real life. Fans can earn rewards and perks during the process, Warner Bros. explains.
Apart from accessing exclusive Looney Tunes goods and virtual meet-and-greets, NFT holders will also access never-before-seen content, and fresh NFT drops as part of their reward bonuses. Previous NFT projects by Warner Bros include ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’, which featured classic cartoons from the 1940s to 1950s’ and NFT trading cards of the DC comic series.
This is the third collaboration between Nifty’s and Warner Bros. They previously produced the Matrix NFTs and Space Jam NFTs, alongside the Ethereum-based Layer two protocol Immutable X.
