Warner Brothers, HBO, and Nifty’s partner to launch Game of Thrones NFTs
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and HBO have teamed up with NFT platform Nifty's to launch digital-collectible non-fungible tokens based on the hit series, according to a Nov. 2 Nifty’s blog post.
Daz 3D, a design firm best known for designing NFT projects for CloneX by Murakami and RTFKT, DC’s Bat Cowl Program, and the Friendship Box NFT for Coca Cola, will be lending a hand on the design, development, and production of the Game of Thrones program.
The Game of Thrones program will enable fans to build their own collections, ‘GOT’-inspired, of avatars, thematic activities, on-site engagement, and other digital collectibles in the form of assorted packs of weapons, companions, or gear that will let fans customize and strengthen their avatars.
‘GOT’ NFT collectible types will include ‘iconic moments, locations, characters and more’ from the series.
‘Our goal, as always, with the fans is to create new ways for them to interact with the stories and characters they love,’said Josh Hackbarth, Head of NFT Commercial Development for Warner Bros Discovery.
‘We're excited to expand the Game of Thrones fandom and franchise with this unique digital collectible program that'll engage fans on a deeper level,’ he added.
