Veve has announced that it will partner with Disney to offer non-fungible tokens (NFT) of its biggest characters to promote its streaming video channel Disney+.

Named Disney Golden Moments collection, they feature some of the most beloved characters and icons from the franchises featured on Disney+.

The characters will feature as golden statues and become digital collectibles. Disney will gradually release them on Veve from November 12, the same day as Disney+ Day.

As part of the promotion, certain NFT buyers will be awarded limited Disney+ subscriptions.

Disney characters are not the only ones to be recreated as an NFT. Other characters from Disney franchises, such as Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars will be transformed into NFTs.

The partnership between Disney and VeVe is not new. Veve has already launched digital comics for Marvel and hosts NFTs for DC Comics such as Superman. Some other licensed properties that Veve has launched include James Bond, Star Trek, Back to the Future, and Cartoon Network.

Veve has sold some 1.9 million NFTs to date and has more than 500,000 active users on its platforms.

Veve is part of Ecomi, a Singapore-based blockchain that was founded in 2018. In 2019, VeVe conducted an ICO generating $10.65 million. Its market capitalization is currently around $1.2 billion.
